The Dr. Carl D. Swanson ’78 Endowed Scholarship

The Fund will provide scholarship support for undergraduate music or music education majors who have documented financial need. Eligible applicants may provide a personal essay to demonstrate experiences of discrimination or harassment related to gender identity or sexual orientation, and should also highlight qualities such as resilience, ambition, and motivation that indicate their potential for academic or career success. Preference will be given to those focusing on voice (singing). Recipients shall be selected by the Chair of the Music Department in conjunction with the Director of the Gender and Sexuality Center and the Office of Enrollment Services.
