Abrams/Pointek Pre-Veterinary Scholarship

The Fund shall support a scholarship for highly qualified seniors or graduate students who are applying to veterinary school to pursue a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree. It is the donors’ intent that the scholarship only be awarded to students who possess the requisite credentials for acceptance into veterinary school and have the greatest likelihood of becoming veterinarians. The student recipient(s) shall be selected by the Office of the Dean of the College of the Environment and Life Sciences in close collaboration with the Department of Fisheries, Animal and Veterinary Sciences and any other relevant departments. If the selection process reveals no qualified student in an awarding cycle, the award shall not be made and the fund’s distribution for that year shall be reinvested back into the endowment. If the number of qualified candidates exceeds the availability of funds, then priority shall be given to candidates with financial need.
