Arnold M. Sidel Memorial Scholarship in Pharmacy

The endowment shall be used to support two student entering his/her fourth (P2) or fifth (P3) year of study. Each scholarship would be a value equal to one-half of the allowed proceeds. See below for criteria & process suggestions: The candidate should exhibit empathy and a genuine caring for his/her peers and society in general. The students must show an interest in pursuing a career in community pharmacy and must demonstrate an ability to apply the teachings of pharmacokinetics and pharmacotherapeutics to patient counseling and/or pharmacy based consulting. Eligibility will not be based solely on grade point average or financial need.
Process Suggestions:
Each spring, the URI College of Pharmacy shall distribute the criteria for the Arnold M. Sidel Memorial Scholarship in Pharmacy to notify Pharmacy students that applications for this award are available. Fourth (P2) and fifth year (P3) students shall construct a brief one to two paragraph narrative as to why they believe they are deserving this award. Narratives will reviewed by the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, who will select up to two recipients on an annual basis. Announcement and awarding of the Arnold M. Sidel Memorial Scholarship in Pharmacy will coincide with a major College of Pharmacy annual event (i.e. White Coat Ceremony in September or the Youngken Clinic in November).
