Gerald B. Shapiro Memorial Scholarship Endowment

The endowment shall be used to fund a scholarship for a student who is visually impaired and demonstrates financial need as determined by Enrollment Services of the University of Rhode Island. The scholarship shall be available to any student from any geographic area, any year of schooling at the University, and pursuing any area of study; as long as the student successfully establishes him/ herself as visually impaired. If, in any given year a visually impaired student is not requiring funds, such funds may be distributed to a student who demonstrates a disability.
