Martin & Claire Hawes Memorial Scholarship

Income from endowment shall be used to provide scholarship assistance to a graduate of Woonsocket High School intending to study nursing or teaching at URI, with preference for non-traditional (i.e. returning) students. The award shall be based primarily on academic merit i.e. for student showing promise of academic achievement and accomplishment and shall be awarded to the same student as long as he or she remains in the nursing or teaching program and until he or she successfully completes the program. The recipient is to be selected by the Director of Admissions.
