Gallogly Burt Family Scholarship

The scholarship will be awarded annually to an undergraduate junior or senior from the state of Rhode Island who has declared a major in Human Development and Family Studies and who would like to pursue a career in counseling or social work. The student should have financial need, academic merit, and display a strong dedication to social and human services professions through participation in volunteer activities and/or community service with those in need.

If there is not a student who meets the above stated criteria, preference will then be for a student who has declared a major in the College of Health Sciences and intends to pursue a career in counseling or social work. This student should also display a strong dedication to the human services professions through participation in volunteer activities and/or community service with those in need.

When possible, the award will be made to the same student for both the junior and senior year. The Recipient shall be selected by the Dean of the College of Health Sciences and Student Enrollment Services.
