The Ross L. Aker '64 and Renate E.P. Aker Scholarship Fund

The fund shall award each year to a full-time incoming first year student from the Exeter/West Greenwich school system in the amount of $4,000 annually to be split equally between the fall and spring semesters. By the fiscal year 2021, the fund will be supporting up to 4 students at one time. It is the intention to support an incoming first year student each year in addition to providing ongoing support to the already eligible upper-class student. The student shall be recommended to Enrollment Services by the Scholarship Committee at Exeter/West Greenwich High School based on academic merit. Preference should be given to a student who resides in Exeter, RI. The recommended student will be communicated to URI Enrollment Services to award the scholarship. The scholarship award shall continue for this student annually based on academic merit for up to three more years if the student maintains a GPA of 3.0 or better and a full course load. If in any given year no student is recommended, the award may be reserved for the following year.
